“In computing, a mouse (plural mice or mouses) functions as a pointing device by detecting two-dimensional motion relative to its supporting surface. Physically, a mouse consists of a small case, held under one of the user’s hands, with one or more buttons. It sometimes features other elements, such as “wheels”, which allow the user to perform various system-dependent operations, or extra buttons or features can add more control or dimensional input. The mouse’s motion typically translates into the motion of a pointer on a display, which allows for fine control of a Graphical User Interface.”

This complicated description is the one that best describes the wee handling device that is beside your keyboard, and that is essential to surf and navigate the web, open links, select text…Or not?

Mouseless Browsing is a free Firefox add-on that you can use to browse the Internet without clicking your mouse.

It works by assigning an Id number to every link or textbox that you can see on a page, so that you can open that page or start writing in that box just by pressing the Ctrl key + the desired number.

On the bottom right of your browser, a new field will integrate, so that you can see which numbers you have pressed to be sure you have opened the right link.

The extension is really simple, but fully configurable as you can change every key with your own combination: page scrolling, link opening, box selection, etc. can all be personalized with their own specific key.
