How many times have you found yourself away from home, on someone else’s computer, needing to edit a document without saving it locally on the machine you are currently using? Wouldn’t it be better to use online services such as Google Docs or Zoho suite?

Open IT Online is a Firefox add-on that allows you to open and your documents and images just using your preferred online editors, without the need of any software to be installed.
Whenever you are about to download a supported file, new voices in the “Open With” dialog menu will show: in fact, among the others, an option to open the file online using web-based services like Google Docs, the Zoho suite, ThinkFree Viewer, and other locations.

Open IT Online also shows you the file size of the document , so that you can determe whether you want to open the file online or not.
Many formats can be handled by this cool and useful extension:
- Documents (*.doc, *.rtf, *.odt, *.sxw)
- Spreadsheets (*.xls, *.csv, *.ods, *.sxc)
- Presentations (*.ppt, *.pps, *.odp, *.sxi)
- Images (*.jpg, *.gif, *.png)
